Mohanty, born in Odisha, has a diverse background in various technology roles that he took on while working at Citi for more than 12 years.
Following the announcement, Sopnendu Mohanty will become a minister of state while also maintaining his role of Monetary Authority of Singapore’s (MAS) chief fintech officer. In his new role, Mohanty will gather comments and feedback from beneficiaries of state government schemes and programs and submit the reports to respective departments through ministers.
Mohanty is set to work with the Odisha chief minister office and will be heavily involved in creating and setting annual budgets.
