Increase in Crypto and Blockchain Jobs

According to data from Indeed, a job listing site, employment in the industry of Crypto and blockchain has seen an increase of 26% since 2018.

The Seen by Indeed study revealed that job adds in the field of blockchain and crypto has risen following a four-year trend of 1,457 percent growth in the sector.

However specific sector job searches dropped by 53% over the same time. The height of enthusiasm for the sector peaked in 2017 when bitcoins price reached an all-time high. However, jobs in the sector continue to increase as seen by the below graph.

The report revealed that this year the top five job sectors are all computer-based in areas such as software engineering, full stack developer and front end developer among the most popular.

The top companies listing are Deloitte, IBM, Accenture, Cisco and Collins Aerospace. Crypto and blockchain company Coinbase came in at 7th and 8th. Other companies in the field of crypto also made the list with Ripple 9th, Circle 11th, Kraken 12th, and ConsenSys 13th.

Indeed predicts that the number of jobs offers in this field will continue to trend and increase in 2020. This is predicted even in the face of extreme price volatility and regulatory uncertainty of cryptocurrency.
