They explored how policies could be reformed to address these issues more effectively, with an emphasis on the humanitarian aspects of migration as guided by international conventions and the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

On October 17, 2024, the second day of the event, the discussions shifted towards the role of Supreme Audit Institutions in managing migration issues. High-level auditors and national audit office heads from across Europe examined how migration challenges could be integrated into the audit process to ensure more transparent and effective management.
The working groups focused on key areas such as improving cooperation between EU institutions and national governments and how migration could be seen as an opportunity, particularly in filling gaps in labor markets across Europe.
