Coinbase Extends Visa Card to 6 Additional European Countries

Coinbase, a cryptocurrency exchange, has extended its visa to fiat visa card services to 6 additional European countries, which allows them to spend their digital assets. Now individuals from Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland and the Nederlands will be able to get their hands on the Coinbase Card and spend their cryptocurrency assets.

Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin will be accepted via the Coinbase Card on online checkouts, the local stores and millions of other Visa-approved merchants. The Coinbase Card will instantly liquidate the available cryptocurrency in a Coinbase account for the equivalent amount in Euros and make payment to the online shop or physical merchant in Fiat.

According to Coinbase U.K. CEO, Zeeshan Feroz, the first 1000 cards issued were free and they literally just flew out like hot cakes. The Coinbase Card was the first of its kind for a major crypto exchange in the United Kingdom.

The card is issued by PaySafe and can be managed through apps on iOS and Android platforms and customers can select which type of cryptocurrency they would like to use to spend. Fee’s stand at €4.95/£4.95 for ordering the Coinbase Card and 2.49% per purchase.
