The largest residential real estate brokerage company, Realogy and online retail titan Amazon, will offer a program called TurnKey that will direct potential homebuyers through an Amazon portal and connect them to Realogy agents. When these buyers purchase a home, they will receive complimentary Amazon Home Services and products worth up to $5,000.
Even though Realogy owns brands like Coldwell Banker, Sotheby’s International Realty, Gardens Real Estate and more, they’ve had hard competition from newcomers like Compass and Redfin who rely mostly on top-notch online platforms. But now that Amazon has joined forces, it gives Realogy a platform second to none.
Ryan Schneider, the Realogy CEO expressed:
We’re the market leaders in this industry and we like that position, but you always have to be innovating to stay ahead, you’ve got to be willing to cannibalize yourself, you’ve got to do all the things that a big successful company needs to do to stay on the forefront…giving an agent and franchisees high-quality leads from a source like Amazon and Realogy together is a real differentiator that’s going to be very powerful for the group.
The procedure is quite simple, potential buyers will use TurnKey, through a portal on Amazon which in turn will take them to the Realogy page where they can input their data on what type of home they’re looking to purchase. Then they are connected with a Realogy agent.
When the buyer decides to finalize the deal and purchase a home, Amazon will connect them with services and experts where they will get a selection of Amazon Home Services like smart home products, paintings or accessories for home appliances which can be installed by Amazon professionals. The value of these products can reach up to $5000 depending on the price of the home you purchase from Realogy.
Pat Bigatel, the Director of Amazon Home Services said:
Customers can be overwhelmed when moving, and we’re excited to be working with Realogy to offer homebuyers a simplified way to settle into a new home…the Amazon Move-In Benefit will enable homebuyers to adapt the offering to their needs, from help assembling furniture, to assisting with smart home device set up, to a deep clean, and more.
TurnKey will be available in 15 major metropolitan housing markets around the U.S including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Washington and Chicago and it’s expected to expand into more markets.
